Brief Description

The University of Leicester has chosen to give ERC-Funded PhD Studentships in Childhood in Iron and Viking Age Scandinavia for the academic year 2022/2023 in order to assist students in completing their study in the UK.

Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the ERC Funded Studentships in Childhood in Iron and Viking Age Scandinavia for International PhD Student at the University of Leicester, UK 2022-23:

  • Previous research experience with the Body-Politics project’s eras, areas, and/or themes.
  • Working knowledge of primary archaeological sources of evidence, such as skeletal remains, artefacts, and/or excavation data.
  • The ability to read a Scandinavian language or the willingness to study one.
  • Prior research in either late prehistoric/early medieval Northern Europe OR archaeological approaches to children.
