The Fully-Funded PhD Studentship In The School Of Geography at the University of Nottingham, UK 2022-23 is seeking applications from adequately prepared applicants for a three-year PhD studentship starting in autumn 2022.

Scholarship Award Benefit

The studentship program will pay Home/EU costs (£4,625 for 2022/23) and provide a full-time annual stipend similar to RCUK rates (currently £15,609).

International applicants are encouraged to apply, but because fee funding is capped at the Home rate, successful international applicants will be expected to cover the fee shortfall (international fees for 2022/23 are estimated to be £26,500 for science PhD projects and £20,000 for social science PhD projects).

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Fully-Funded PhD Studentship In The School Of Geography at the University of Nottingham, UK 2022-23

  • Applicants must have an offer to begin a PhD research degree program in the School of Geography between October 1, 2022, and February 1, 2023, to be considered for the studentship.
  • The studentship will support PhD research in any discipline of geography, as long as it is related to one of our four study themes: geosciences, environment, and society, economic worlds, cultural and historical geography. Projects that span many themes are also appreciated.
  • The school is dedicated to high-quality research and knowledge transfer, with a solid and supportive postgraduate research culture and training program. More information is available on our website’s Postgraduate Research pages.
