Brief Description

The Stamps Scholarship is the most esteemed merit award offered to University of Miami students. Seniors in high school who exhibit excellence and academic achievement are given this grant.

A merit scholarship equal to the entire cost of tuition for four years of undergraduate study is given to Stamps Scholars. The scholarship covers tuition and fees as well as living on campus, a food plan, health insurance via the university, textbooks, a laptop allowance, and access to a $12,000 enrichment fund that may be used for study abroad, undergraduate research, unpaid internships, and other educational opportunities. (Expenses from the enrichment fund are subject to previous Office of the Provost approval.)

Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the University Of Miami Stamp Scholarships for International Students, USA 2023-24:

Early Decision I and Early Action applicants are automatically considered when they apply for early admission to UM by submitting all First-Year Admission Requirements by November 1.
A Stamps Scholar must finish a full-time undergraduate program of study with a minimum of 24 credit hours every academic year, including at least 12 credits in each of the fall and spring semesters. At the University of Miami, a student must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the whole academic year, with the initial computation taking place at the conclusion of the second semester of attendance.
The award is subject to change in the event that additional grants, scholarships, prepaid tuition, and/or housing assistance become available that were not expected at the time the award was issued. For additional details, see our Terms & Conditions page.

Application Procedure

The following procedure remains the only viable route to apply rightfully:

When Early Decision I and Early Action applicants complete all First-Year Admission Requirements by November 1 to apply for early admission to UM, they are automatically taken into consideration.
Candidates for the Stamps Scholarship who have advanced to the semifinal round are required to submit a brief essay answer.
Finalists will be selected based on a review of candidates’ application and supporting documents, including their response to the pre-determined essay prompt, and notified of their status as finalists at the time of admission in late January.
Finalists will be interviewed by the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation thereafter and Stamps Scholarship announcements will be made in early March. Stamps Scholarship recipients will be required to participate in the University of Miami’s scholarship program, which will be held in early April. During this program, candidates will meet with UM faculty and current scholars and learn more about our interest-driven education.
