All of the following will be provided by the university:
- Academic Year Tuition Reduction:
- Graduate Assistants (GA’s) are granted a stipend and tuition waiver for a maximum of 15 credit hours.
- Any credits beyond this limit will be billed at the in-state tuition rate.
- Summer Semester Tuition Reduction:
- During the summer semesters (I, II, III, IV), GA’s receive a stipend and tuition waiver for up to 9 credit hours.
- Additional credits taken will incur charges at the in-state tuition rate.
- Tuition and Fee Responsibilities:
- GA’s are responsible for the initial $38 of tuition, along with other applicable fees such as athletic, activity, transportation, health clinic, and health insurance premiums.
- Furthermore, GA’s are accountable for their own living expenses and the cost of required course materials, including books.

Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Valdosta State University Graduate Assistantships, USA 2023-24:
- Admission: Must be accepted into a degree-granting masters, specialist, or doctoral program as a Regular Admission student. Limited exceptions apply for Probationary status and international students. Certificate program entrants are ineligible.
- Legal Status: Must have lawful presence in the US, be eligible to work, and pass background checks.
- Coursework Requirement: Must enroll in a minimum of 6 Graduate coursework hours per semester.

- Evaluations: All GAs must undergo planned and periodic evaluations conducted by their faculty supervisor and/or department head.
- Georgia WebMBA® Program: Prospective GAs in this program are ineligible for a tuition waiver.
- Multiple Positions: GAs cannot hold a second GA position or any other position within the University System of Georgia (USG).
