Brief Description

Cornell University Fellowships are awarded to around 20% of our PhD students who are enrolled on campus (referred to as Sage Fellowships or Cornell Fellowships depending on the field of study). In most cases, these scholarships cover the whole cost of tuition, provide a nine-month stipend, and provide Cornell individual student health insurance. Additionally, students may get a summer stipend.

With no accompanying teaching or research duties, a fellowship allows graduate students to complete their graduate studies (as they are in a teaching or research assistantship). Fellowships are frequently merit-based internal or external scholarships that help finance a student’s full-time academic program.
