Scholarship Award Benefit

- Austria does not charge tuition for those who receive grants. Universities of applied sciences are unique institutions that only provide degrees in a small range of subject areas. - Only those who are approved as exchange students or free movers for an exchange stay at a university of applied sciences are eligible to apply.
- The candidates are enrolled in a master’s program at a college in one of the listed nations of origin. OR are admitted as exchange students at FH Salzburg if they are enrolled in a Bachelor Program at a university in one of the above countries of origin and have completed at least 4 semesters of coursework at the time they accept the grant (Contact: Tina Gsenger)
- having outstanding German and/or English language abilities, staying 4 to 10 months in Austria, being under 35, and not having studied, conducted research, or worked on academic projects in Austria within the six months prior to applying for the grant.
Application Procedure
The following procedure remains the only viable route to apply rightfully:
- The Ernst Mach Grant application process must be done online.
- Supporting records: All qualified candidates must provide the following:
- two letters of recommendation from professors at the university. Letters of reference must typically be uploaded into the applicant’s online account. The letters should be provided as scanned attachments to stephan.bodinger@oead.at by the applicants.
- It will be necessary for applicants to provide official proof from their home university stating that the tests taken in Austria would be accepted there.
- provide your most recent or most recent semester’s transcript of records.
- Uploading a genuine, biometric passport is required. Only applicants from the EU may submit applications using an identity card.
- Note that only authentic digital signatures in their original form will be recognized. Applicants must submit evidence that a non-certified digital signature validates the identity of the applicant or organization (institution stamp on the document).
- Online applications must contain a financial plan that details your anticipated costs of living in Austria.
- Language Requirement: Candidates must be proficient in either German or English. There is no need to provide official testing results, such as those from the TOEFL or another exam, but you should have adequate English language proficiency in the relevant field.
