Kentucky Education Excellence Scholarship at the University of Kentucky, US 2022 grants are available for a maximum of 8 academic terms and must be used within 5 years of high school graduation or completion of a baccalaureate degree. Summer coursework is not eligible for KEES awards, which are only offered for the autumn and spring semesters. KEES is not available to students who are on a visiting or non-degree status.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Kentucky Education Excellence Scholarship at the University of Kentucky, the following criteria must be met:
- The University of Kentucky will report your UK overall cumulative GPA to the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) at the end of each spring term to determine your KEES grant for the next academic year. (Please note that KEES eligibility is not determined after the autumn semester.)
- If you were not a UK student during the spring semester, it is your responsibility to get your cumulative GPA sent to KHEAA by the university you attended.
- Contact the UK KEES Coordinator in the UK if you did not attend any post-secondary institution for the spring semester but did attend the UK during the previous fall semester.

To be considered for a Kentucky Education Excellence Scholarship at the University of Kentucky, you do not need to apply. The Kentucky Higher Educational Assistance Authority should get all relevant information from your high school (KHEAA).
During your senior year of high school, you should have gotten a letter from KHEAA informing you of your award for the preceding school year.
The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (OSFAS) at the University of Kentucky (UK) must have your social security number (SSN) on file before you can receive a KEES award.
Your KEES money might be requested by OSFAS from KHEAA. There is no need for you to take any more action if you provided your SSN on your admission application or if you filed an FAFSA (and entered UK School Code, 001989) prior to your enrollment in the UK.
If you don’t do either of these things, you’ll need to contact Terri Jo Thomas, UK Student Scholarship Coordinator, at (859) 218-2030 to provide your Social Security number.
