Brief Description

To ensure that more students have access to higher education in the UK, the Association of Commonwealth Universities is now providing the Routledge/Round Table Commonwealth PhD Studentships for overseas students.

Even though they need not be residents of the UK, registered PhD students from UK universities are eligible for the first studentship program. The second is accessible to enrolled PhD candidates from ACU member institutions in Commonwealth nations except the UK as well as to former Chevening and Commonwealth Scholarship recipients who are now enrolled in PhD programs at any Commonwealth institution outside of the UK.

Eligible Courses

Round Table Commonwealth PhD Studentships at the Association of Commonwealth Universities, UK 2023-24 is a scheme that looks to reward high-achieving internationals, and it is only available for the course below at the respective faculties:

Scholarship Award Benefit

All of the following will be provided by the university:

  • £4,000 GB will be paid on the announcement of the awards. The remaining £1,500 GBP will be paid on completion of the post-studentship requirements.

All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Round Table Commonwealth PhD Studentships at the Association of Commonwealth Universities, UK 2023-24:

  • Please check the offered courses, host universities, and admission criteria before submitting an application.
  • supporting records The university requires the following paperwork from the students:
  • Describe your suggested study area in brief (100–400 words) for the Routledge/Round Table Studentship grants;
  • Describe your planned results in brief (100–400 words) if your application for an award is accepted; describe the potential effect of your study and why you believe it is essential (100–400 words); and
  • Explain in brief (100–400 words) how the prize will advance your study.
  • Two referees’ names are also required on the form, one of whom should be your current PhD or DPhil supervisor. You are accountable for requesting references from these referees. They can send them to secretary@commonwealthroundtable.co.uk or to you for forwarding together with the completed application.
  • The applicants must possess a highly regarded bachelor’s degree and, if necessary, satisfy additional admission requirements of the university they desire to attend. Before beginning an application, applicants must carefully read all of the application instructions and FAQs.
  • The students may submit their results from English language exams like the IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo, etc. These tests’ findings are widely acknowledged by UK universities.
