Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the scholarship program:

  • Must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in an approved college or institution during the 2022-23 academic school year OR work as an early professional (within their first two years in the industry).
  • You must be at least 21 years old by February 6th, 2023. If they are under the age of 21, they must recognize that they are ineligible to engage in D.I.C.E. Summit events, including the on-site mentor program.
  • Major: Any discipline
  • Minimum GPA: 3.3 on a 4.0 scale
  • To apply, applicants do not need to be a US citizen or permanent resident. According to federal law, any non-U.S. citizen who receives a scholarship must not be on a publicly available “Specially Designated Nationals” terrorism watch list.
  • Family members of AIAS Foundation board members and staff, as well as individual large donors to the Foundation (donations of at least $1000), are ineligible to apply for the scholarship.
  • Academic institutions must be accredited by the country’s or countries’ standard and customary university/college accrediting institution(s). If the accreditation of any academic institution is called into question, the Foundation has the exclusive right to decide whether students from that institution are eligible for Foundation scholarships.
  • Applicants who have already received a scholarship are ineligible to apply.

To complete this application, you must upload the following:

1. Two page (maximum) personal statement, including:

  • Information about your studies and how you will benefit the game industry
  • A statement addressing your service, leadership, character, and financial need.

2. Two current, signed letters of recommendation:

Letters of recommendation must be from colleagues or professors from your current academic program, administration, and/or professors who know you individually.

  • Letters of recommendations must address your potential to make significant contributions to the game industry through character, service, or leadership abilities.

3. For student applications, include:

  • An online transcript
  • Proof of enrollment
  • For early professional applications, include:
  • Proof of employment
