Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Sports Scholarship at the University of Gloucestershire, UK 2023-24:

• The sport in which they compete must be one in which:
  • Is a Commonwealth, Olympic, or Paralympic program
  • is a component of the BUCS competition schedule.
  • is accessible for practice in our student government clubs.
  • Has a National Governing Body and is a recognized sport by Sports England.
• Each Scholar will be evaluated individually.
• Prior to starting their studies at the University of Gloucestershire, first-year students will first be evaluated on their engagement in sports at their previous school, college, or university.
• The participation in sports and the classroom by returning pupils will also be evaluated. Following evaluation, each student’s ongoing eligibility will be determined by how well they perform academically and in their chosen sport for the 2023–24 school year.
• Be enrolled in an acceptable course at the University of Gloucestershire
• Possess exceptional talent in a particular sport
• Complete all review assignments assigned by the Sports Scholarship Team Prove that you have reached your goals for your academic work, athletic performance, and any contributions you made to the regular review sessions you attended throughout the academic year.
• Accept the terms of a scholarship agreement by signing it.

Application Procedure

The following procedure remains the only viable route to apply rightfully:

• You must have an offer from the University of Gloucestershire for a degree that will commence in September 2023 or January 2024 in order to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
• In any academic year, applicants are only permitted to submit one scholarship application. Applications won’t be put on hold for a future intake.
