The University of Leicester has chosen to give ERC-Funded PhD Studentships in Childhood in Iron and Viking Age Scandinavia for the academic year 2022/2023 in order to assist students in completing their study in the UK.

  • Working knowledge of primary archaeological sources of evidence, such as skeletal remains, artefacts, and/or excavation data.
  • The ability to read a Scandinavian language or the willingness to study one.
  • Prior research in either late prehistoric/early medieval Northern Europe OR archaeological approaches to children.
