Scholarship Award Benefit
All Successful applicants will be rewarded with a full tuition fee cover and an allowance of £15,364
throughout their year of study at the University College London.
Eligibility Criteria
Prospective students must meet the under-listed criteria to be eligible:
- be a forced migrant or a UK domiciled person with home fee status (as defined by UCL)
- have been offered admission to a Bartlett master’s course for the academic year 2022/23 and have not previously completed a Master’s degree at UCL or elsewhere (including integrated master’s degrees or degrees designated as ‘undergraduate master’s’).
Candidates for The Bartlett Promise – Aziz Foundation scholarship must also meet the following requirements:
- strive to assist British Muslim groups and/or identify as a British Muslim
- Candidates must also satisfy at least one of the following extra requirements:
- UCL2 has determined that you are in financial need.
- be of African, Asian, or Minority Ethnic descent 3
- 4 have a disability and are from a Gypsy, Roma, or Traveler community 4 having care obligations 4 be a care leaver
- be the first generation in your family to attend university on a full-time basis
- be the first generation in your family to attend a postgraduate university
- Eligibility conditions for 2023/24 and beyond are subject to change.
- A household income of less than £42,875 is considered low.
- We define BAME as people of non-white ancestry and those of mixed ancestry who self-identify as having a BAME background.
- In Higher Education, there are four underrepresented groups.
Application Procedure
Candidates seeking a master’s scholarship from The Bartlett Promise must have obtained a master’s program offer from one of The Bartlett institutions in 2022/23. You are not required to accept the offer.
The offer may be unconditional (i.e., the candidate has satisfied all of the program’s requirements) or conditional (i.e., the applicant has not met all of the program’s requirements) (i.e. the offer is conditional on the applicant meeting key requirements such as a 2.1 grade in their undergraduate programme). If a shortlisted candidate has received a conditional offer, they must confirm that they have completed all of the requirements by July 30, 2022 in order to be considered for an award.
Shortlisted candidates will be requested to meet with the Windsor Fellowship5 one-on-one as part of the application process to discuss anything else that you think could help your application. This does not entail explaining or detailing your academic abilities, as your Bartlett School will assess these. The conversations will take place electronically, using a manner agreed upon by the Windsor Fellowship and the applicant, such as phone, Zoom, etc. The Windsor Fellowship will host them from June 20 through June 30, 2022.
The Windsor Fellowship is assisting The Bartlett with the one-on-one interviews that are required as part of the application process. For the purpose of conducting these talks, the Bartlett will share the data of candidates with the Windsor Fellowship. You consent to The Bartlett sharing your information with the Windsor Fellowship by submitting your application
