Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the University of British Columbia Mastercard Foundation Scholars, Canada 2024-2025:

Step Two: Additional Tests

1. If your Bachelor’s degree was not instructed in English, arrange to take an English Proficiency Exam (TOEFL or IELTS).

Step Three: MCFSP Application Package

1. Complete the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program Application by the deadline of December 1, 2023.
2. Submit the entire package electronically as a single PDF document via email to mcfsp.admissions@ubc.ca.

Step Four: UBC Faculty Applications

1. Follow the online application process after finishing the MCFSP Application.
2. Review faculty application instructions, and check eligibility for fee waivers.

Step Five: Reviewing Process

1. In February 2024, faculties will nominate candidates for admission to the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship.
2. A university-wide selection committee will assess and rank applications, selecting award recipients.
3. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a video interview in April 2024.
