Brief Description

The Scholarships for Ukrainian Students are available for the academic year 2023–2024 as a part of the Future Ukraine Scholarships Program at the University of Bon, which was established by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

This scholarship will be given by the University of Bonn to ten Ukrainian students who wish to study for a master’s or doctorate degree there in Germany. The candidates must have fled their native Ukraine and be given permission to stay in Germany temporarily. To be taken into consideration, they must be preparing for a German language course. The prize ranges from €931 to €1,200 a month for the winners.

Scholarship Award Benefit

All of the following will be provided by the university:

  • The three levels of the Belt and Road International Students Scholarship in Xi’an City.
  • First-level winners get living stipends, are excused from paying housing costs, and are not required to pay tuition.
  • Living expenses:
  • Graduate: 1500 RMB per month for 12 months
  • Master: 2000RMB every month for a year.
  • PhD: 3500RMB per month for 12 months
  • Tuition fees are waived for second-level winners, and living expenses are covered.
  • Living expenses:
  • Graduate: 1500RMB per month for 10 months
  • Master: 2000RMB each month for ten months.
  • PhD: 3500RMB per month for 10 months
  • Third-level winners receive living stipends in addition to a 50% tuition cost exemption.
  • Living expenses:
  • Graduate: 1500RMB per month for 10 months
  • Master: 2000RMB each month for ten months.
  • PhD: 3500RMB per month for 10 months

Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Ukraine Scholarships Program at University of Bon, Germany 2023-24:

  • It is likely that the candidates departed Ukraine.
  • According to Section 24 of the German Residence Act, the applicants must have been granted residence for temporary protection (AufenthG, inter alia).
  • The candidates must be enrolled in a prerequisite German language course.

Application Procedure

The following procedure remains the only viable route to apply rightfully:

  • The university site is where the applicants must first submit their admissions applications. Interested candidates must mail the documentation indicated below to support@verwaltung.uni-bonn.de in order to apply for the scholarship.

  • Personal statement (in table form)
  • Account information with a German bank
  • a confirmation of enrolment in a DSH prep course, documentation of enrollment at the University of Bonn, or a letter of acceptance for doctorate studies
    • a motivation letter
    • copies of your passport, and
    • a referral letter
    • documents attesting to voluntary participation in events like competitions and Olympics
  • The applicants must fulfill the admission criteria of the master’s or doctorate degree program at the University of Bonn in order to be admitted.
  • German language competence is required at DSH level 2 and CEFR level C1 for students.
