Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Gateway Scholarship, USA 2023-24:

• Enroll in a minimum of 15 credit hours each fall and spring semester, working towards the completion of your baccalaureate degree.
• Complete at least 30 credit hours per academic year. Ensure that at least 12 credit hours are successfully completed in both the fall and spring semesters. Note that all coursework must be taken at UTRGV, as transfer work or CLEP exams are not accepted.
• Maintain a cumulative institutional Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0. This GPA calculation includes all grades received in college-level courses at UTRGV, even those taken during high school.
• The scholarship is renewable for up to 2 years of undergraduate study or until you graduate, whichever comes first.
• It will be terminated if you transfer to another institution or if you don’t enroll at UTRGV for any fall or spring semester.
• In exceptional circumstances, if you need to be absent during a fall or spring semester, you must notify and receive approval from the Scholarship Coordinator in advance.
