The Group’s representatives were present for the cheque presentation, which was held on September 23 at the corporate office in Lagos’ Golden Penny Place Apapa neighborhood.

A post-graduate scholarship program in collaboration with the American Farm School (AFS) and Perrotis College in Greece is known as the Flour Mills of Nigeria-George Coumantaros Foundation Scholarship plan.

The program is created to give worthy residents the chance to expand their horizons and gain useful skills and information that may be further reinvested in the Nigerian economy.

Edegbo Simon Ojonugwa, who has a BSc in Agriculture from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and Ezeonu Alfred Chukwubuikem, a food engineering graduate from the University of Uyo, are the chosen applicants for the 2022 Flour Mills of Nigeria-GCF postgraduate scholarship program.

At the American Farm School in Greece, Simon Edegbo will pursue an MSc in Sustainable Agriculture and Management, while Alfred Ezeonu will pursue an MSc in New Food Product and Business Development.

Director of Group Strategy and Stakeholder Relations, Sadiq Usman, spoke on Flour Mills of Nigeria’s contributions to the nation and the legitimacy of the hiring process: “When we feed the Nation, daily, our effect goes beyond food processing and provision for Nigerians.

Through our CSR and sustainability projects, such as the FMN – George, we also nourish growth opportunities. In order to help Nigerians meet socioeconomic needs, we are considering developing a means for them to gain information and skills.

“More importantly, we made sure that the selection process was open and seamless, from the computer-based tests to the live interviews with subject matter experts from the American Farm School and Perrotis College, in order to ensure that the scholarship program is available to the most deserving Nigerian students. Extreme professionalism was displayed throughout the procedure. Although there were over 900 applications, just two were ultimately qualified since they were able to pass the majority of the qualifying requirements. To ensure that we can all realize the future that is envisioned for our country, FMN as a group will continue to invest in human capital development.
